OMANLUXURY ANGHAM

OMANLUXURY Angham always takes me me by a pleasant surprise when I wear it. Upon initial spray there is that bold smoky rose sweetened up with jam present, which doesn’t show up if you are testing from a blotter. Saffron and apple opening is super alluring and feels somehow very fitting for the leathery base they are placed upon. I love the spiciness of cloves in the opening that almost present you with roasted chestnuts and cinnamon vibe.

Cloves is one note I associate with fall fragrances and festive season, mixed with geranium (responsible for that rose vibe) it adds a beautiful dimention not taking away the darkness of entire composition. So this play of opening notes is a huge yes in my book.

But the best part about OMANLUXURY Angham is its leathery woody facet with elegant complex drydown. I get whiffs of birch tar, labdanum, benjoin and vanilla (not the sweet kind) and comforting flashes of woodiness. Coniferous saw dust smells like that for the first seconds before it catches fire. Almost mentholated coolness, and the freshly charred logs of cedar wood upon which leather saddle dries near the campfire.

What starts off as rather fruity fragrance changes into something woody and atmospheric, not pitch black but dark for sure. I’m loving what I smell and If I had to compare across what else is out there. The one leather closest to Angham’s drydown is Matiere Premiere Falcon Leather.

Longevity is very good. Both times I wore it for the testing, it stayed in my skin for an entire day entering the late drydown after about 8 hours. Sillage is fundamental with this one. When you’re on the move, OMANLUXURY Angham projects rather beastly but when you’re sill, there is arms length static scent bubble around you. It didn’t feel offensive at any point. Such a wonderful introduction into their limited edition range.
