Eric Buterbaugh Oud Saffron Flower, a saffron heavy composition that makes you smile every time you wear it.
It has always been my number one saffron fragrance and I doubt anything will ever change my mind on it. All those Crivelli saffrons overdose scents released in recent years are mere trash in comparison. Let me make it clear to you. For me, the Oud Saffron Flower by Eric Buterbaugh is nothing short of a masterpiece.
Despite of what you might think looking at the heavy notes, this fragrance is only a veil of saffron, mixed into honey and poured over heated vanilla pods that just started to char and smoke in the burner. Not really wildly pungent, nor dark leathery, considering its insinuating name.
Saffron Flower is only a little bit of both, in a very refined and the most head turning way. Mirage of saffron hidden between layers of sweetness and woody notes. Brilliant work of Ilias Ermenidis for this house. It’s a scent that is still highly sought for by true connoisseurs. And it is not easy to find, sadly. But if you ever come across a sample of it, just grab it and run. This stuff will make everyone’s knees weak, if you are into spicy bliss fragrances.
