THE VAGABOND PRINCE ENCHANTED FOREST
OFFICIAL BRAND STATEMENT
The Vagabond Prince introduces his first perfume Enchanted Forest. The fragrance was suggested by Nature itself. It’s the smell of the forest, when you step in it in the night. The darkness of the night keeps your senses alert, enhancing every smell and every sound you experience, including your own heart pounding. The night awakes your instincts, you need some time to get used to their language and feel as if you’re a part of this night forest that’s opening to you its grand beauty. Then the dense darkness steps aside and you can smell a delightfully moist fresh air.
Black currant, a core note of the composition, tries its delicious magic on you, unfolding memories and your desires. It’s truly a queen of this mysterious night: its fragrant leaves and branches surround you, its berries start tasting on your tongue. It teases you with dozens of nuances of the forest hidden in one black glossy berry. After the exciting hide and seek game, the fairy will comfortably cuddle in your mind and on your skin.
The Vagabond Prince is an independent perfume house from California. We entrusted our fairytale to the French perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, who made our dream come true. Enchanted Forest was entirely produced in France, including manufacturing of the juice, bottle and packaging.

MY THOUGHTS
Vagabond Prince Enchanted Forest or Bertrad Duchaufour in a bottle. I strongly believe that each perfumer leaves behind a signature: an invisible thread woven through their creations – and in Enchanted Forest, Duchaufour’s touch is unmistakable. The scent begins like dawn in a dewy garden: blackcurrant leaves steeped in to a cup of hot herbal tea. Cassis leaf is tangled with mint, sugar and wild herbs, cooked over open fire.
Then it turns, very slowly and tenderly into photorealistic freshly crushed black currant berries dusted with sugar and laced with spice mix (cloves, star anise, fir needle sap). The one of a kind mix, developed by loving hands of a simple woman, some grandma in Siberia really, who has always loved currant and cultivated it ever since she was a little girl. That mixture is about to replace the hot tea on the stove and grandma is ready to make her signature jam.
As the Vagabond Prince Enchanted Forest settles further into drydown, a deeper, darker tones of it emerge. Resin seeps like tears from split pine, the smoky hush of a sauna stirs in the distance, and somewhere, a fire is crackling freshly added wood.
What I am trying to say is that here, blackcurrant is not one thing but many: sweet, green, spicy, savory. It is a note that Bertrand mastered to perfection. My only wish is for it to last longer, it’s a pity something so soulful feels so fleeting.
