STRANGERS PARFUMERIE OLIVER EAU DE PARFUM
OFFICIAL BRAND STATEMENT
“Call Me by Your Name” takes place in the summer of 1983 in the countryside of northern Italy. Elio Perlman, a 17-year-old with a passion for music and literature, lives with his parents in a beautiful villa. When Oliver, a charismatic and confident American graduate student, arrives to assist Elio’s father, a professor, their lives intersect in unexpected ways.
At first, Elio is both intrigued and intimidated by Oliver’s intelligence and magnetic presence. As the days pass, a deep connection forms between them. Their friendship evolves into a passionate and transformative romance, filled with stolen glances, secret encounters, and intimate conversations.
Together, they explore the picturesque Italian landscape, swimming in rivers, cycling through sun-drenched fields, and sharing moments of pure joy and intimacy. Their summer is a time of exploration, self-discovery, and the awakening of desires they never knew existed.
However, as the summer draws to a close, so does their time together. The reality of their fleeting affair becomes painfully apparent, and they must confront the inevitable separation. The emotions they experience—love, longing, heartache—leave an indelible mark on their souls.
Through its poetic storytelling and vivid portrayal of emotions, “Call Me by Your Name” captures the universal experience of love and the poignant journey of self-discovery that accompanies it.

MY THOUGHTS
Strangers Parfumerie Oliver is the olfactory equivalent of stepping into direct sunlight on the hottest day of the year. It reads as obsolete, brilliant, and almost shockingly bright. Oliver opens entirely in the upper register of vintage colognes: white floral, grassy herbal, sharp citruses all working together with remarkable precision. The complexity here is striking to the point that it makes my teeth do this soft grinding movement, as if my body is physically reacting to the sheer intensity of brightness.
Petitgrain and orange blossom lead with absolute clarity, plowing forward like a beam of clean light cutting through fresh snow. The effect feels almost architectural in its construction—nothing is muddled, nothing competes for attention. Light simply radiates outward in all directions. After a few minutes of this brilliant opening, a quiet sweetness begins to emerge from beneath the citrus brightness.
There are gentle liquor inflections here that read as cold and icy rather than warm, alongside a crisp muskiness that adds unexpected depth. There’s also this citrus-forward laundry cleanliness that somehow reads as completely intentional rather than accidental or synthetic. All these ideas sit beside one another without any friction or awkwardness, each element remaining completely legible while the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. Personally, I think more mint would not go amiss here, but then again, if I could I would add mint to absolutely everything I eat, see and smell, so take that bias into account.
Translated into color, Oliver is definitely pale green and bright white. Think crisp linen, fresh herbs, sunlight filtered through leaves on a blinding sunny day. In character, it presents as modern and contemporary on the surface but reveals itself as quietly classical underneath. That’s why it is such a sincere, beautifully executed reference to the old traditional citrus-forward aromatic eaux de colognes that defined “masculine freshness” for generations.
Strangers Parfumerie Oliver is unpretentious in the best possible way, precise in its execution, and genuinely uplifting in effect. For anyone seeking that perfect balance between vintage cologne sensibility and modern wearability, Oliver delivers exactly what you’re looking for without unnecessary embellishment or trendy fru-frus.
