NOS REPUBLIC COR SERPENTIS EAU DE PARFUM
OFFICIAL BRAND STATEMENT
Cor Serpentis, ‘The Heart of the Snake’, is the brightest star in the constellation of Serpens. In Ivan Yefremov’s novella of the same name, the planet revolving around Сor holds a cool, shimmering, radioactive biome of purple icebergs and acidic oceans that is beautiful but nothing like ours — in fact, deadly to humans. What would a living forest smell like in a world unimaginably distant and savage, powered by the light of a strange star? Would it have any resemblance to the smells of the Earth, be somehow relatable to us, earthlings? These questions are answered in Cor Serpentis, an alien woody fragrance from another solar system.
A jungle in deep space — imagined by Stéphanie Bakouche.

MY THOUGHTS
Nos Republic Cor Serpentis composition defies any conventional ollfactory categorization, presenting less as a traditional perfume and more as an encounter with something genuinely alien. Remember when Byredo attempted to recreate the scent of space (and failed tremendously). This puppy here is no joke and would totally fit the Space Jam brief. Cor Serpentis is nothing less but an outerworldly substance that feels like it was literally captured in space rather than composed by a perfumer on planet Earth
It gave me chills upon the first spray. And funny flashback to when I was a kid. We used to have those finnish mint-crunchy chocolate candies by Fazer called Marianne. It took me out during the first wear because my mind kept wandering to that delicious treat of my past. Luckily on the second try my nose was more lurky and I started noticing the elements of this scent with more success. Definitely pine, cold pine winter forest aura. Definitely berries, frozen and coated by thin layer of ice. Definitely metallic muscs and touch of frry animalic ones here at play too. What a beautiful interpretation of alien garden!
Imagine the familiar made unfamiliar by skilful hands of madame Bakouche who is legendary in game of animalics. The opening of Nos Republic Cor Serpentis delivers a frosted impression of blackcurran that is nearly completely stripped of its familiar characteristics. Mentholated, cold, green and frozen. Gone are the earthy, green facets. Pissiness of cassis is wiped out of existence. Instead, the almost frozen berry essence remains that evokes aurora borrealis lilac hues, solar radiation spilling across the horizon.
The prevailing aura of the fragrance is immensley cold. Not formed by just adding mint or menthol. Hell no! The perfect balance of musks, pine and mint but with the surreal touch of ozonic notes. So good. This camphorous coolness weaves through the composition. Blackberries are eventually replaced by note of pine and soft earthy humming on the background. The textural impression and technical execution here is simply captivating. Especially for a girl who knows her citruses and florals. This is so beyond my scope it baffles me. How much is there to learn and enjoy!
Longevity of Nos Republic Cor Serpentis is substantial, giving you full day wear time to explore this spectral novelty of a scent on your skin. The striking violet bottle is also a visual promise of what’s inside, perfectly capturing the perfume’s cosmic inspiration.
11/10 release and true oflactory hidden gem!
