MY THOUGHTS

Well, well, well—looks like I’m right on time for the Emporio Armani Power of You beach party! Let me just dust off my keyboard and dive into this tropical paradise, shall I?

Highly anticipated by ladies and myself, it is the fragrance equivalent of a celebrity baby that actually lives up to the hype. Becauyse let’s admit it, who doesn’t love a liquid vacation: passionfruit that’s actually passionate, frangipani that makes you want to book a flight immediately, and solar notes (read warm fuzzy skin musks and mineralic accents) that are basically sunshine crystallized in tiniest specks of salt on the skin after epic swim. Just in perfume form.

Wearing Power of You feels like being teleported to a tropical beach at a 5-star resort where you’re sipping a fruity drink with one of those tiny umbrellas, the sun is warm but not oppressive, and someone else is paying the bill. It’s that specific. Is it unique? No. Is it groundbreaking? Also no. But does it smell absolutely divine? YES.

Strangely enough this next thing I’m gonna mention happens more and more. This is clearly a summer fragrance, released in dead beat month of January in Europe. It’s so so strange, usually the seasonality was in tune with European market. As I said, Power of You is perfect for warm and hot-hot weather situation.

And of course, let’s cover the “uniqueness” of this release. For sure, it is not even attempting to be the next revolutionary fragrance that changes the game. And honestly? That’s perfectly fine. Sometimes you don’t need groundbreaking—you just need something that smells amazing and makes people say, “Wow, you smell incredible!” Best in its (designer) genre, if you will. Emporio Armani Power of You is that fragrance. It’s a crowd-pleaser in the best way possible. For bold fruity floral lovers, this is a relatively safe blind-buy. And considering the decent price tag I might splurge on full size as well.

Overall it’s 4/5 stars. Losing one star for lack of originality, but gaining infinite stars for making me want to quit everything and move to a beach. Pack your bags (or at least spray this on) and escape to your tropical state of mind – passport not required for dreaming out loud!
