THOMAS DE MONACO JADE AMOUR
OFFICIAL BRAND STATEMENT
Flowers for Future is a vision of a new garden, where molecules grow what nature has not yet imagined. No nostalgia – only reinvention. Three perfumers of tomorrow have shaped this collection: raw, surprising, alive. A contemporary approach to niche, written in the poetry of expectation.
David Chieze once told us about a flower he had seen during his studies in Lyon – the Liane de Jade. Striking in form, hypnotic in color, but without a scent. That absence stayed with him. Years later, he returned to it with a question: what would this flower smell like if nature had completed it?
Jade Amour is his answer – a fragrance imagined from silence, shaped with emotion and precision. Intimate and luminous, it brings presence to something that never had one.

MY THOUGHTS
INTRO:
Thomas De Monaco Jade Amour created by David Chieze is an ode to silent flower and my absolute favourite from the new Flowers for Future collection that has just launched.
Flowers for Future represents a bold departure from traditional perfumery, a vision of a new kind of garden. One, where molecules cultivate the sensation that existing nature has not yet imagined. This isn’t a collection rooted in nostalgia or classical interpretation of good old times. There is a distinct statement here, one of pure reinvention, shaped by three forward-thinking perfumers who refuse to be constrained by convention. Of course, to some extent, there is that visible contemporary approach to niche fragrance that exists for years. Yet in the space between the known and the anticipated, the line overall falls into domain of raw novelty. Within TDM revolutionary (silver) collection, Jade Amour stands as a particularly compelling example of this philosophy in action.
There’s something profoundly poetic about creating a fragrance for something that has no scent, Liane de Jade flower, and that’s precisely the story behind Thomas De Monaco Jade Amour. David encountered the Liane de Jade during his studies in Lyon, a flower that stopped him in his tracks with its striking form and hypnotic blue color.
Unfortunately, the paradoxically alien-looking flower offered nothing to the sense of smell. This absence became a lingering question that stayed with him for years, eventually transforming into an artistic challenge that defines Jade Amour. Chieze returned to that silent flower with a question that bridges art and nature: what would this visually stunning bloom smell like if nature had given it a voice? The result is a fragrance imagined from silence itself, shaped through both emotional resonance and technical precision.
The composition opens with a bright citrus introduction featuring mandarin and bergamot, creating an immediate sense of luminosity that mirrors the visual impact of seeing Liane de Jade in person for the first time. (Yeah, I had to google the damn plant and I was sitting with my jaw dropped for a while). I’m no botanist, but in layman’s terms it is called jade vine. Just google it and see for yourself what my rave here is about, just to understand what we talk about here, in black and white setting.
SCENT:
The opening notes provide freshness and lift, establishing a welcoming and such familiar foreign luxury tea scent for me. Chieze’s interpretation of what this scentless flower might contribute to the composition is outstanding. Soft, elegant, with various shades. Just wow!
The heart reveals the fragrance’s floral soul through ylang-ylang and jasmine (expected and well welcomed) tea criminal. Both notes are well known to me for their rich, intoxicating qualities. This pairing creates a luxurious floral core that feels both classic and contemporary, offering whirlwind of familiarity and sensuality. Sexy tea? Oh yes it exists now! The ylang-ylang brings its characteristic creamy, slightly spicy floral character while the jasmine adds mysterious multidimensional green richness. Together, they create this fascinating emotional center of the fragrance, the imagined voice of the silent flower brought to life through its vocal botanical cousins, even if they are different species completely!
Vanilla enters the composition simply to provide warmth and comfort, softening the florals and creating a bridge to the base notes. This isn’t vanilla as a dessert note but rather as a smoothing agent that adds roundness and accessibility. It works in harmony, creating a cohesive transition as the fragrance develops on my skin. And yes I tested it for an entire year (in samples) thanks to Thomas’s and Kristina’s generosity.
The best part is that Thomas De Monaco Jade Amour grounds the composition with clean vetiver, and sandalwood, creating a foundation that feels both plush and refined. Vetiver (one of my love-hate notes) brings its characteristic green, woody, slightly earthy quality that adds sophistication and depth. Sandalwood rounds out the base with its creamy, woody smoothness, adding a meditative quality that allows the other elements to quietly melt into it. I’m left with exceptional longevity and rich development throughout the wearing experience. What makes Jade Amour particularly compelling is how it balances the intimate with the luminous. The fragrance manages to feel both personal and radiant, creating presence without demanding attention. This duality reflects the original inspiration perfectly, a flower that was visually striking yet mysteriously silent. The perfume gives voice to that silence without losing the sense of mystery and wonder that made the original flower so memorable.
One love with trillion exclamation marks! Personal advise, go try it, and enjoy its refined facets, it’s a beauty like no other… I mean it, from the bottom of my fraghead’s heart.
