L'ENTROPISTE JODHPUR 6AM
OFFICIAL BRAND STATEMENT
« Jodhpur at dawn. My face weary from a grueling night of travel, I step off the bus as the first light begins to break. The city is draped in shades of gray and blue, and my tired eyes marvel at the sight. A chai vendor hands me a cup. Its unusual flavor and sweet fragrance blends with the myriad of flowers displayed along a bustling market just starting to awaken… A gentle balm to the soul. »
It takes but a moment to experience a whirlwind of emotions.
An unexpected fragrance, a contrast of spicy, fruity, and tangy notes, all mastered by the creaminess of tuberose. Ginger and cardamom play with our taste buds, while the delicate aroma of black tea blends into a warm milk accord.

MY THOUGHTS
L’Entropiste Jodhpur 6AM which I first discovered during Paris Perfume Week event this year was the one that stuck with me until I bought it in couple of months time since first trying it.
There are fragrances that transport you to places you’ve never been but always wished to visit. Jodhpur 6AM certainly belongs to this category for me. Opening of it was so familiar to mu nose that I was momentarily disoriented, could it be the Bombay Bling? Strip off the spiciness, tune up the volume of the mango et voila! Yes, certainly it is similar.
Opening within couple of minutes makes a nice fruity turn to the better. I get mango, apricots and green cruchy starfruit quality in it. I even thought of green guavas for a second or two, their thick green skin. Anyhow, none of the fruits are of commercial variety. There’s a particular sappy fruity richness here. An unexpected tropical dimension soon evolves into tuberose.
The sweetness of the fruits doesn’t fade so much as transforms, drifting into greener territory with the fresh, clean presence of crushed tea leaves. This transition is very Duchaufour. The gentle tartness that emerges adds sophistication without sacrificing the composition’s approachable charm.
After about 30 minutes on my skin two distinct players enter: cardamom and faint note of clove. Two spices that could easily overwhelm such a delicate fruit foundation, yet here they are merely a whisper, which I love. Rather than competing for attention, they weave through the blend, never disturbing the central trio of tea, fruit and tuberose, only enhancing what’s already fresh and light.
It’s a very masterful blending work, because as we all know by now, making 3 note loud perfume is easy. But add 10 more ingredients and make them work with eachother in pastel setting, that is where the true challenge of perfumery lies. One thing remains constant: the tuberose reigns supreme. It glows at the heart of the blend like a light bulb, This is comfort and sophistication of wild-card floral, wrapped in one beautiful package. L’Entropiste Jodhpur 6AM approachable without being simple, complex without being challenging.
Now let’s address the negatives. Sillage is mediocre. Scent sits very close to the skin. For what you get, at this price point, let’s say invest into another fragrance unless you love Duchaufour’s work in Bombay Bling as much as I do. Both have clear crossover moments and BB is way better in terms of sillage and price. Oh and the bottles too. Compare the magical bottle design of Neela Vermeire Creations to the Bruno Banani vibes of L’entropiste.
Another thing that threw me off the brand entirely is the massive throwouts of the fragrances into liifestyle influencers and fragrance influencers hands. It looked like everyone who wanted it and came begging, got it. No filter, no research into who is asking. Hence the following: marketplaces are overflowing with all the bottles being sold making it hard for stores to host the collection when they see 10 new ads popping up weekly at half off retail price if not more heavily discounted . That just kills any interest of specialty niche stores as they can’t profit from placing the line on the shelves knowing entire line is dumped into grey market at not even 6 months since the collection was officially launched.
Will I keep my bottle? Yeah, for now. Will I invest into any other fragrances from the collection? Sadly no.
