L'ATELIER PARFUM GREEN CRUSH (OPUS 3)
OFFICIAL BRAND STATEMENT
In the early morning hours of summer, when the sun hasn’t quite reached its zenith, plants express themselves. Freely, majestically. It’s a breath of pure green. The kind that invigorates and intoxicates you to no end, the kind that gives you a feeling of well-being like no other, even as you ruffle its leaves and inhale its eternal freshness.
A powerful whiff of green, that leaves you energized and wanting more.
“I wanted to recreate the smell you get when you crush aromatic leaves in your hands: a powerful green, vegetal and aromatic sensation. A fresh, invigorating fragrance, full of naturalness and supported by an enveloping musky woody base.”

MY THOUGHTS
L’atelier Parfum Green Crush from the Opus 3 collection has been my birthday present and it was a very fun release to play around for the 3 days that it is in my actual possession.
When I discovered that Sidonie Lancesseur was behind this composition, my intrigue deepened considerably. Having someone’s work who created Bottega’s Melagrana is always gonna spike my attention. Having experienced her previous work for several brands, I found myself in familiar territory-her signature watercolor approach is present here, painting aromatic strokes that feel both delicate and purposefully green. Perfect match execution to the fragrance name.
The opening is a fun fizzy refreshing burst: citronella and basil dance with mint in a way that immediately recalls Atkinsons’ Mint & Tonic, but with a mint taken out from Kilian’s Love the way you taste. There’s a soft woody creaminess lurking beneath the herbs, something that whispers of old-school barbershop and modern luxury shower products. Overall, L’atelier Parfum Green Crush feels fresh, contemporary and most important of all playful.
As the fragrance develops, verbena and blackcurrant overtake the mint-forward opening. The heart maintains that aromatic herb intensity while introducing a subtle fruitiness that prevents the composition from becoming too masculine or aggressive. This is where the youthful and playful unisexiness shines. Green Srush is neither trying too hard to be edgy nor playing it safe. Base pillars are cedarwood, and musk. Both create a foundation of that shower-gel accord that I just briefly mentioned. However, woods also provide structure without heaviness, while the musk adds soft fluff making you want to lean in closer and sniff the sprayed area.
Let’s address the elephant in the room which is to me quite poor longevity which is 4h at best. Of course, this isn’t a powerhouse fragrance, sitting comfortably in the very much average performance category. For some, this will be a deal-breaker. For same 90 euros for midsize, you can get way better citruses and better performing artistic fragrances from the Strangers lineup.
I do see a clear target group forr this fragrance: scholars. Young students don’t always want to announce their presence in a room crammed full of teenagers. That said, if you are a minty-herbal fresh scent lover, Green Crush might very much appeal to you.
